The Nevada Minority Business Council, Inc., is a nonprofit, tax exempt corporation chartered as a private sector initiative. It was founded for the sole purpose of increasing the purchase of goods and services between minority suppliers and the private and public sectors. It's major objective is to help build a stronger, more equitable society by supporting and promoting minority business development.

The NMBC is a member network of purchasing councils nationwide, servicing Nevada, Idaho and Utah, with links to 3,500 corporations and 15,000 minority businesses as an affiliate to the National Minority Suppliers Development Council (NMSDC), headquartered in New York.

The NMBC is governed by a Board of Directors that establishes policy and determines long range goals.

The NMBC membership includes major corporations, educational and financial institutions, government agencies and ethnic minority businesses.

The NMBC is funded by it's membership dues, contributions, inkind services and grants.
